Hm.. First time taking my T2i outside. I dislike winter, a lot. I hate the cold. It's inevitable in Northern Michigan, so, I must cope.
This was taken at Mayfield Pond Park in Kingsley. Partial ice on the pond.
When my image was declined by a group, this was their response. I just wanted to post it to keep it forever, to maybe give me some insight on this photo.
"Reflections are always a fun and inviting subject. A good reflection is also one of the few times when the dominate line can be across the center. However, even with a glassy mirror refection there still needs to be strong elements to draw the eye into frame.
In your image the reflection isn't strong enough to overcome the center line, and since you have nothing on the thirds, it tends to make the viewer lose interest.
In this situation it would have been good to find something that could lead the viewer's eye in. The ice could be used for that if it could have been framed to come in from a lower third. As it is now, there is a lot of dead space below the ice."
